Coyotes, Bobcats and other Predatory Animals could be encountered in the Rockwall area. We encourage you to use the following mitigation strategies to help avoid unwanted interactions with these animals:

  • Don’t put out trash until day of pickup and make sure it is in a can with a lid, if trash can not available then double bag the trash to hide smell
  • Don’t leave dog and cat food outside for pets
  • Don’t let your small animals outside unattended as not only coyotes, but Bobcats and other predators look for those opportunities
  • Change your routine when walking, take different routes each day
  • Carry a whistle or air horn with you when walking which will scare any predator and be aware of your surroundings at times
  • If you have additional questions our Rockwall Animal Control Officers will be more than happy to provide additional educational information, so that you and our wildlife can co-exist

Rockwall Animal Control can be reached at (972) 771-7790 during normal hours of operation 8:00am – 6:00pm 7 Days a Week.

After hours, weekends and holidays, please call the Rockwall Police Department at (972) 771-7724

I'm also a huge sports fan and you can often find me rooting for my favorite teams, the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and of course the Fightin Texas Aggies!
